Welcome to Bowie High School's DAEP Program
Hi! My name is Christian Valles and I am the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) teacher at Bowie High School. The Texas legislature established a policy in 1995 requiring school districts to have an "alternative educational setting for behavioral management." Students can be removed from normal classes and sent to the campus alternative program if they:
1. Engage in conduct punishable as a felony
2. Commit a series of specified serious offenses while on school property or attending a school-sponsored activity.
3. Commit other violations specified in student "code of conduct" developed by the El Paso Independent School District
I graduated from The University of Arizona with a Bachelor's degree and earned my teaching certificate from both the state of Arizona and the state of Texas. I am certified to teach physical education and driver's education. I am currently working on my Master's degree from Grand Canyon University in school administration. This will be my 12th year of teaching.
My conference period is from 12:45 to 2:15 PM.
