Mr. Vasquez welcomes you to his page for English at Bowie High School.  This page is intended to provide students with information on classes, scholarships, colleges and deadlines, and other tools necessary to be successful students.

Who is Vasquez?
A UTEP graduate, twice, with a Bachelor's of Arts in English and a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, Mr. Vasquez has wide ranging experience in the education arena beginning in 1999 at UTEP with Developmental English, Freshman Composition I and II, and Junior/Senior Intro to Creative Writing for three years.
In 2002, V moved to a lower valley high school and taught Junior and Senior English, Dual Credit English, Newspaper, and  coached Cross Country and Track for three and a half years before moving to the Rio Grande Campus of El Paso Community College as a full time instructor for a year and a half where he taught Developmental English classes, as well as Freshman English Composition I and II.
His tenure at Bowie High began in 2007 with Sophomores before taking over Junior and Senior AP and Dual Credit English for the 2008-09 year.
Currently teaching regular Junior, Senior AP, Senior Dual Credit English.


Students should always strive to be prepared for whatever happens in class, and, since it is English, that means a great deal of reading, writing, and discussion.
