My name is Rickey Green and I am a United States Army non- commissioned officer- retired Sergeant First Class. My education includes a liberal arts degree from Excelsior College and many years of military education. After retiring from the military I earned my certification to teach J.R.O.T.C. I began my career as an army J.R.O.T.C. instructor at El Paso high school as a long term sub. From there I spent four and a half years teaching in New Mexico and came to Bowie in 2002.
I believe that when students are in a safe and orderly environment they are able to focus more on the task of learning. We as educators have the responsibility of doing whatever we can to help create such an environment. When students are successful in the classroom they will be successful in life and go on to become productive citizens. Should there be a need to contact or meet with me; my conference period is from 8:45-9:30 Monday- Wednesday.

Homework /classwork /uniform policy
When home work is assigned it must be turned in on time. If home work is late, 10 points will be deducted for every day it is not turned in (two days max). Students who turn in assignments two days after the due date can only receive the max grade of eighty.
If students are having problems I am available during lunch to meet with them. All students are expected to complete classroom assignments on time and will have adequate time to do so. However, students will have the opportunity to hand in missing classroom assignments if arrangements are made with me prior to end of grading period.
Students in J.R.O.T.C. are required to wear the military issued uniform. All students assigned to the class are must wear the uniform at least once a week. This school year uniform day will on Wednesday. Uniforms are to be worn the entire day, not just for the J.R.O.T.C. class. Wearing of the uniform will count for 40% of the total grades. Students will receive a failing grade for the day if they fail to wear the uniform. If there is a valid reason for students not complying they must make arrangements with me to wear the uniform the next time they come to class in order to receive credit.
