BOWIE ALUMNI NEWS

SEPTEMBER 2005

Thank you for supporting the scholarship activities this year. The Father's Day dance in June was very successful, thanks to all Bowie Alumni members for the work and cooperation, and to everyone who attended the dance.
This year we awarded nine-one thousand dollar scholarshipsto Bowie High School graduates. The recipients are: Lluvia Yessenia Barrientos, Julia Cedillos, Diana Flores, Jose A. Lama, Gabriel Lujan, Soledad Muniz, Carlos Perez, Vanessa Pinon, and Flor P. Ramirez. We congratulate these and all graduates who will proceed to acquire a higher degree of education.
We want to acknowledge all of the Bowie organizations that are helping the students of Bowie High School. Our Big family of the class of 1995 will celebrate their 50th anniversary. The committee has been meeting for the last couple of years to plan the activities. Spearheading the meetings are Tony Lujan, Rudy and Anita Aparicio, Dan Gonzalez, and other dedicated classmates. They will receive their 50th anniversary high school Diplomas during the assembly cermonies on Thursday October 20, 2005. All Bears, Ex-Bears, their families, and friends are invited to attend this memorable event. This is but one of the activities planned for the week of the 16th - 22nd of October.
The fabulous class of 1945 will celebrate their 60th anniversary this year. This group of Bears has been working very hard to put this reunion together. They are planning to attend all fo the activities in October. Ruben Avelar, Carmen Gonzales, Betty Martinez Rivas, adn Irene Lucero Casarez are part of the planning committee. Let's hope that this will not be your last reunion as some of you have indicated. Good Luck to you and all other Bowie High School classes who will celebrate their reunions this year!
Lots of Luck to the 2005 Bowie football team. Seventeen seniors are expected to return, and that should make a difference in the winning column. Let's support the players and coaches by attending the games.
Our sincere Thanks to all military veterans who served and are serving to uphold and secure our Freedom. Because of you , the bells of Liberty and Freedom will forever toll.
God Bless You, and God Bless America!
Please plan to attend all of the Homecoming Activities. (Refer to next page for schedule of these and other announcements). ONCE A BEAR, ALWAYS A BEAR!
